Year 11 Textiles Technology
The level 1 course is run over a two year period, introduced at year 10. This ensures students have a sound theoretical knowledge that is embedded in practical applications.
In year 11 we complete Level 1 NCEA consisting of:
91046 design an item
91047 develop a prototype for a design.
Three achievement standards are also offer in year 10 so if the student is new in year 11 they will have the opportunity to complete some of these also. They include:
91060 learning sewing techniques and fabric analysis
91058 Sewing a specific item using a commercial pattern
91096 Making adaptions to a commercial pattern
Term 1
91046 - design
Term 2
91047 - prototyping
Term 3
91053 - external researching designers and design principles
OR
91058 and 91096 as a catch up for students who did not complete the year 10 textiles course
Term 4
91060
These last three standards are completed in year 10 but can be caught up in this time if they were not completed.
If students have completed all standards there is the opportunity to begin the level 2 course now.
