Soft Materials Technology
This technology course teaches students creative problem-solving, which is now considered one of the most valued skills employers are looking for in their prospective employees. Soft Materials Technology covers all of the practical aspects of working from, or creating design briefs from which design concepts and outcomes (prototypes, models, mock-ups and/or finished products) are developed and produced. Students are required to create and maintain detailed records (workbooks or folios) of their design and development processes and evaluations of their work throughout the processes. Workbooks will include research images and notes, drawings, photographs, and test examples of their working process. Assessment standards will be selected from those listed to suit student interest and abilities.
